Ben Kaye manages product marketing at Points, the global leader in loyalty currency management solutions. Over the past decade he has worked at leading technology companies - including Microsoft Canada and TELUS - pushing forward strategies to develop and grow new markets. At Points he works on advocating for loyalty solutions across merchant and consumer verticals with a special focus on digital wallets.
Ben will be speaking on how loyalty programs, much like they did for the credit industry, will be a key factor in driving consumer adoption to mobile wallets, and how to best utilize loyalty programs to aquire merchants and entice consumers.
Amy Ter Haar—CEO, Flow
Amy ter Haar is a legal and business advisor with experience in multiple sectors including IT (research, design and development), financial services, e-commerce, entertainment, manufacturing, and retail. Co-founder of the Institute of Mobile Technologies and its design and development affiliate, Appexiom, she is an acknowledged thought leader focused on global privacy and security as related to Internet and mobile technologies. An ambassador for personal data protection, Amy actively lectures on Privacy, Secrecy and Censorship, and founded the Personal Data Protection Initiative. She is a member of Technion Canada and the Law Society of Upper Canada. After delivering a workshop called “Micro-finance, Micro-enterprises and Mobiles” at International Telecommunications Union’s (ITU) 2011 conference in Geneva, she served as a panelist at ITU’s 2012 conference on Ubiquitous Mobile Payments. Amy currently serves as CEO of Flow, Inc.
Piggybacking off of loyalty programs, Amy will be discussing how brands can use social media and loyalty points to increase brand awareness and engagement, incentivizing more merchants to jump into the mobile wallet ring.
Dave Cornelius- Information Technology and Services Consultant
Dave Cornelius has over 35 years of experience in Information Technology, with emphasis in the financial services industry, particularly payments, electronic banking, trading systems and compliance. He has held senior management and consulting positions in the U.S., U.K. and Canada over the last 30 years. Dave has direct experience in all aspects of Information Technology, with specialization in large project management, strategic planning, senior business and IT analysis, test planning and management, and operations management. He also has significant systems development experience, having led the design, development and successful implementation of multi-million dollar custom systems and large package systems.
While Bluetooth has been around for a good few years at this point, the payment industry is only just now beginning to utilize it via beacon technology. Dave will be explaining how to best utilize consumer data to drive sales for merchants and provide a more immersive shopping experience for consumers.
