Leaked Video Shows Clinkle in Action
Clinkle, the new mobile-wallet that’s garnered a ton of attention (due to the company raising $25 million along with the hype surrounding its secretive details), has leaked.
Sort of.
A user by the name of “Clinkle Hopper” has posted a video on YouTube with the Clinkle app running in demonstration mode.
The Clinkle wallet seems to be able to store debit and credit cards, reward cards, and bank account information. You can transfer to and from your bank account on to the wallet app.
Users at stores that support Clinkle can pay through Aerolink, which was reported to be a sound-based NFC alternative.
The video also demonstrates social payments through funds linked to the wallet, a direct bank transfer, or a credit card payment, which carries a fee.
Clinkle also has a messaging feature, which will probably come in handy when you’re trying to get your friend to pay you back for last night’s bar tab.
Clinkle users are required to enter personal identifying information including name, address, and their social security numbers to use some features. This is because, as the linked tumblr claims, Clinkle is creating a bank account at Zion Bank that will hold funds for their users.
The interface is very slick, and offers some amount of customization. Thought it hasn’t even been released, if the video is any indication, Clinkle will definitely be one of the most attractive mobile wallets released to date.
