According to a recent report from Forrester, Apple users are more prone to using their mobile devices for their shopping needs. The survey of 58,000 U.S. respondents found that iOS shoppers are 30 percent more likely than Android users to make a purchase on their phone and 15 percent more likely to do pre-purchasing product research on their smartphones or tablets.

Despite these numbers, companies are still creating apps for Android and iPhones. According to TechCrunch, The survey also found that 99 percent of ecommerce professionals intend to launch either a native or hybrid iOS app by the end of 2013, and 96 percent plan to do the same for Android.

According to that same survey, 56 percent of companies have less than $1 million dollars in their mobile funds, and 41 percent with less than $500,000 dollars. For this reason, most companies cannot afford to put their money into apps for Windows or Blackberry, and intend to only focus on iOS and Android.
