UnionPay Partners with International Champions Cup 2019
Football is a worldwide sport, known in commercial circles as “the beautiful game”, that engages millions of fans from hundreds of countries. It’s no wonder that a worldwide brand would want to engage with the sport as well.
UnionPay, a globally recognized payments network that we’ve covered in the past, will be aligning itself with the International Champions Cup in 2019. The event will feature a group of some of the premiere clubs in Europe competing in the offseason for this yearly accolaid.
“We are thrilled to once again be partnering with UnionPay, a key relationship in the development of the International Champions Cup as the world’s premier annual summer soccer tournament and the official start of the soccer season featuring the top European clubs playing across North America, Europe and Asia. Beyond the global football spectacle, it is our aim for the International Champions Cup to engage deeply with our regional audiences and create meaningful partnerships with our local partners. UnionPay shares our love of the game and our vision to bring fans closer to the pitch to see the best players on the world’s biggest stage,” said Aaron Ryan, Chief Operating Officer, Relevent Sports Group.
UnionPay cardholders will be able to take advantage of specific offers in the form of ticketing privileges. Priority buying advantages, discounted pricing, and facetime with some of the stars of the pitch are just some of the perks being offered by UnionPay, apparently with more to come through their Facebook page.
As a Juventus fan myself, I’d hope to see them in some offseason action. UnionPay makes it possible for those with the means (and a UnionPay card) to attend the International Champions Cup this upcoming summer.
As per the press release: To take advantage of the special ticketing privileges for UnionPay Cardholders ahead of the upcoming International Champions Cup 2019 in Singapore, visit the Bank of China (BOC), DBS Bank, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) and UOBwebsites to apply for a UnionPay card today.
