Digital Goodie Advances Mobile Payments With New Microsoft Connection
We’ve heard more than a little out of Digital Goodie this year, especially recently when it teamed up with Zebra Technologies to bring loyalty programs to mobile shopping. Now, Digital Goodie has forged another partnership which it tipped us off about: a partnership between itself and Microsoft that should give retailers some powerful new options in cloud services.
More specifically, Digital Goodie is now part of the Microsoft Azure cloud network, which in turn will allow Digital Goodie to ramp up its cloud services support operations and give customers the ability to choose from several cloud providers. That in turn will let customers mesh their current IT strategy with the available cloud providers and carry on accordingly.
The combination of Microsoft Azure—an operating environment that allows for services to be both built and hosted on Microsoft infrastructure—and Digital Goodie, a completely customizable ecommerce platform, should result in some exciting new developments in ecommerce and new options for those who don’t have a presence, or want to augment their presence accordingly.
Kalle Koutajoki, Digital Goodie CEO, notes “Our modular and cloud-native technology is perfect for scaling up, and lets our customers react fast to the constantly evolving market needs. It is natural that our customers want to have flexibility also in the choice of cloud providers, which is why so we are excited about adding another world-leading cloud platform at the base of our operations.”
It might surprise some to note that there are many businesses out there—commonly small ones—that don’t have much of an ecommerce presence, if any at all. They may not see a reason to have one, or they may think they don’t have the resources to bring one into play. Yet with Digital Goodie and Microsoft working together, there’s more reason than ever to get in because it’s that much easier to do so. Even if the online sales component isn’t large, every sale is still a sale
Not having an ecommerce presence means actively leaving money on the table, and businesses can ill afford that, even as the economy seems to improve all around. Digital Goodie and Microsoft may have made such a move that much easier, and it will likely prove welcome.
