Thames Technology Completes Strategic Recruitment Project
24 April 2024 – One year on from the expansion of its senior leadership team, Thames Technology has completed phase two of its strategic recruitment programme. This phase has focussed on strengthening the team to further improve customer service, project delivery and quality assurance at group-level and in Thames’ key payment and retail sectors.
“Our goal is to be world class; across our products, services and in our partnerships with customers,” comments Matthew Williams, CEO of Thames Technology. “To achieve this, it was important to further expand and strengthen the team. A lot has happened since the appointment of new finance and operations directors a year ago, we have rebranded the company and made significant investments in manufacturing assets and facilities. These appointments are the next phase of the organisation’s development to take the business to the next level and ensure we deliver on our core values of integrity, quality and responsiveness.”
Four new senior managers have joined Thames. Roben Leonard comes from UL as Head of Technical Development to lead innovation and technical development for new EMV® card projects. Ian Greenslade is appointed Head of Business Improvement to lead the development of processes and data projects to improve customer information, reduce lead times and increase service levels. Sue Worth brings a wealth of experience to her new role as Head of Customer Services and Darren Garfield is appointed Head of Production to focus on the roll out of ‘Lean’ across the business. This will improve the agility and efficiency of manufacturing processes to deliver world class service and quality to customers.
In addition, several appointments have been made to strengthen the commercial division: Sales Manager Andy Morrison joins Thames to help grow sales to financial customers, Product Manager Steven Tait to ensure quality and agility for the launch of new card programmes and Faraz Amjad to lead the development of Thames’ growing customer base in the Middle East and Africa.
Jamie Challis joins as Director of Retail Sales to support customers in the development and launch of new gift and loyalty programmes, and will be supported by recently appointed Customer Account Manager Sarah Robinson.
“This is a hugely exciting time,” continues Matthew. “Our new colleagues will be fundamental to the future of our business, but it is important to acknowledge the full team. We have fantastic expertise with highly skilled and committed employees in all areas of our business; in manufacturing, printing, within the bureau for personalisation and fulfilment, as well as in our logistics and supply chain department. The success of our business is down to the efforts and passion of the whole team to ensure that we are the UKs leading independent supplier of payment, retail and commercial cards.
“Finally, after serving Thames as MD for the last 20 years, Paul Underwood has decided to step down from his operational duties. We are delighted that he will step up into a non-executive role, enabling the company to continue to benefit from his experience and expertise within the card and payments sector.”
