Bezons, 26.02.2018- Worldline [Euronext: WLN], European leader in the payments and transactional services industry, was recently awarded an industry-first certification for the acceptanceof contact and contactless payments delivered in France by Groupement des Cartes Bancaires CB, for its unattended payment terminal VALINA.

At the heart of the VALINA terminal lies a powerful new processor, which guarantees lightning-fast transactions. Its secure Android operating system is opening up a world of possibilities to our partners, who can enrich their interfaces with multimedia touchscreens and provide value-added payment and non-payment applications such as loyalty, couponing and wallets. The water-resistant, vandal-proof and AFAS V5.2-certified terminal supports payments with and without PIN. As such, this versatile terminal will become the reference platform for unattended vending machines, e-car charging point, ticketing and parking applications.

VALINA is the first acceptance device to be certified by PayCert for contact and contactless payment operations for unattended solutions. This certification assesses the conformity with Cartes Bancaires “CB” MPA V5.5 specifications, class ADM 2.1 for contact payments and classe SST 2.1 for contactless payments, issued by Groupement des Cartes Bancaires CB, an Economic Interest Group (EIG) consisting of about 120 French financial institutions. Vincent Roland, Managing Director of Worldline’s Global Business Line Merchant Services: “The fact that the certification of VALINA is an industry first, underlines Worldline’s continuous focus on bringing recognized innovative solutions with increasing ease of use to the market. They make life easier not only for our partners, but also for their customers.”

VALINA is the first Android device that supports both high- and low-value secure transactions in line with PCI PTS 4.x and SRED specifications, together with many types of non-payment applications. The integration of an all-in-one reader for magstripe, chip-cards and Near Field Communication technology (NFC), touch screen, and PIN on glass meets the challenging and space-constrained specifications of the European Vending Association for Cashless Vending Systems V1.3-certified.

CB is an Economic Interest Group (EIG) consisting of about 120 companies that provide payment services. The Group’s mission includes the governance, security and promotion of the CB system as well as the development of products and services and innovation in the field of payment systems with respect to legislative and regulatory rules. The functions of the Group now include development work and standardizing security specific to DLV cards (hardware support for Dematerialised Luncheon Vouchers, or Titres Restaurant Dématérialisés, produced by the members of College B).
