British Columbia Restaurant & Food Services Association Taps Glance for Mobile Payments
Mobile payments and restaurants have gotten along together nicely, and over the last couple of years, they’ve built a lot of common ground together. Recently, word emerged about one major new move in the sector as Glance Technologies Inc.’s Glance PayMe platform hit the top of the heap for the British Columbia Restaurant & Food Services Association (BCRFA), becoming its preferred solution for mobile payments.
Glance PayMe is completely integrated with 15 separate point of sale systems, which combined represent a potential user base of over half a million installations throughout North America. That’s a hefty number of potential users, and Glance PayMe makes a real case for itself by offering a string of features geared toward enhancing efficiency in food service. It even boasts a set of digital rewards options built standard into the app, which can be a huge help in terms of ensuring repeat business.
The BCRFA’s president, Ian Tostenson, noted “After having carefully evaluated other mobile payment solutions and gaining insight from successful locations that currently accept Glance Pay, Glance provides the most robust technology powered by their superior anti-fraud protection. I know first hand, as a user, that Glance Pay is the best-in-class option for our association.”
This is of course excellent news for Glance. It’s just landed itself a hefty slug of likely new users, all of whom now have at least the partial, implied endorsement of the professional organization of which they’re likely members. While many of these may already have a mobile payments solution in place—many places have been working toward just such a goal—those who don’t now have an excellent option before them, and a much better way to catch up to those who already have such systems in place.
Mobile payments in restaurants have already been seen to have several positive effects, including faster turnaround times, higher tips, and more. The convenience factors involved alone have helped with return business, and considering how competitive the restaurant market is, anything that helps there is worth considering.
It should prove exciting to see how many members of the BCRFA get in on Glance PayMe, but the stage is certainly set for some big moves ahead.
