Mobile Payments / Fintech Advancer Fintech Power 50 Rolls Out New Partnership
It’s been a while since we heard much out of the Fintech Power 50 roster, an organization that looks to recognize and help develop advances in financial technology (fintech). That’s changed, as the organization recently dropped word our way about its newest supporting partner, Metro Bank.
Metro Bank has been around for the last eight years, and started up with a plan to focus on the customer, providing the necessary tools for customers to put mobile banking to work. Since its launch, it’s won a spate of awards, including the 2017 Moneywise Most Trusted Financial Provider award and the Moneynet Award in 2018.
This makes it a good fit to join in with the Fintech Power 50; it’s exemplifying many of the common attributes the Fintech Power 50 would commonly emphasize, and considering some of the other firms in play as supporting partners—Holland Fintech and the Emerging Payments Association, among others—the end result is a tailor-made match.
With the new partner in place, Fintech Power 50 can better carry on with its stated mission of recognizing and advancing fintech players, actively promoting these firms to a global audience and encouraging the use of their products and services to make a difference in end users’ lives. Plus, Fintech Power 50 members can better network among themselves to produce the next generation of fintech offerings.
This by itself is a comparatively small advance. The Fintech Power 50 was already a substantial force in the mobile payments / fintech space before the addition of Metro Bank, and it likely would have been so even if Metro Bank had never been added in the first place. What this does, however, is demonstrate that there are still a lot of companies out there who would be happy to get in on the Fintech Power 50, and be a part of that operation.
Make no mistake, there are a lot of fintech operations out there. Calling attention to each, and allowing each a means to differentiate themselves from the scads of competitors out there is a tall order. Membership in the Fintech Power 50, meanwhile, is a great start on establishing that competitive edge and assuring a more permanent place in a still very fluid market.
