Gemini Trust Company Steps Up Its Mobile Payments Presence With New Hire

You might remember the Winklevoss twins as the subject of smirking comedy about their connection to Facebook, but since then, they’ve become a major presence in the cryptocurrency—and by extension mobile payments—field with their Gemini Trust Company. They’ve been looking to augment this position for some time now, and recently passed word our way about their new hire that stands to really do some good: Jeanine Hightower-Sellitto.

With Hightower-Sellitto in place, Gemini Trust has a new managing director of operations, who will also head up the Client Services Team, according to the reports. She’ll report directly to Cameron Winklevoss, president of Gemini, and work to make for a better customer experience for institutional investors.

Hightower-Sellitto was recently the chief operating officer of NASDAQ’s International Securities Exchange (ISE), and handled three electric options exchanges. She was responsible for the ISE office and business management during the move to NASDAQ, and spent 13 years total therein. During those 13 years, she held several leadership positions in relationship and product management as well as business development.

Her direct report, Cameron Winklevoss, noted “Jeanine is a tremendously dedicated professional with a very high regard for operational excellence and efficiency. Her depth of knowledge and experience in the financial industry makes her a valuable asset to our organization and our customers.”

Gemini’s been on a growth tear lately, having recently released its own stablecoin in the Gemini Dollar. It’s also added a new General Counsel in Sydney Schaub and a new Chief Technology Officer in Rob Cornish. Under normal circumstances, this would be reason enough to keep a closer eye on Gemini, but the addition of Hightower-Sellitto will go a long way toward further boosting operations. Since Hightower-Sellitto has a background in relationship building and institutional operations, she should be an excellent choice to help Gemini build relationships with institutions. She knows what they want because she was right in those trenches not so long ago. Seeing her move into that position at Gemini should already be enheartening as the institutions interested in working with Gemini will have a kindred spirit waiting.

This should end well for Gemini, and help push this comparatively new but already thriving operation forward.
