Onosys Adds New Restaurants to Mobile Order-Ahead Stable

August 31, 2024         By: Steven Anderson

The mobile order-ahead concept is one of the great advances in an evening out that we’ve seen in some time. No more do we have to walk into a place, work our way through a line—whether we’re seated or standing—and place an order just to face another line to get that order. Thanks to Onosys, and companies like it, access to mobile order-ahead systems is that much easier to get.

In fact, Onosys just added three new restaurants to its collective so far: Captain D’s, Krystal and Giordano’s all stepped in to use the Onosys digital ordering platform. Captain D’s is a fast-casual chain that focuses on seafood, roughly on par with Long John Silver’s. Krystal offers a square hamburger as its signature dish at its 350 restaurants in the United States and might best be compared to a White Castle that focuses on the southern United States. Giordano’s, meanwhile, only boasts 60 locations, but will offer some of the best in stuffed and deep-dish pizza in the Chicago style around.

For its part, Onosys is keeping mum about how the restaurants will be bringing the service into play, so don’t expect to see this service in place immediately. It may take some time to boil down all the way.

Onosys’ chief revenue officer David DiPasquale noted “Winning the trust of leading brands like Krystal, Captain D’s, and Giordano’s is further validation that the custom Onosys approach to delivering an authentic brand experience is resonating, especially with brands that have struggled with less flexible solutions in the past.”

It’s debatable whether or not these are indeed “leading brands”, especially with Wendy’s, Burger King and McDonald’s—as well as the direct comparison brands to the three noted previously—frantically begging to differ. However, their status as leaders in the market isn’t what’s relevant here. What is relevant is that these chains are stepping up to the order-ahead plate, a development we’ve already seen from the brands that are probably more of leaders than these brands.

This is less a by-product of market leadership and more like table stakes; we’ll likely see more restaurants take up this gauntlet as the months go on, and that’s great news for everyone who’s tired of waiting at a restaurant just to place an order.
