WASHINGTON, D.C. (August 10, 2017) – Today, the Network Branded Prepaid Card Association (NBPCA), a trade association dedicated to the continued success of the open-loop prepaid card industry, announced it has hired Ben Jackson as Chief Operating Officer (COO).

“Ben’s extensive experience and knowledge of the prepaid industry are invaluable assets for our organization as the prepaid industry continues to expand,” said Bob Skiba, Chairman of the NBPCA board. “We are excited to have Ben in this role, working alongside our newly named CEO Brian Tate to help steer the association toward greater success in the future.”

Jackson joins the NBPCA with 20 years of financial services experience, including nearly a decade working in the prepaid industry. Most recently, he served as Director of the Prepaid Advisory Service with the Mercator Advisory Group, where he oversaw dozens of research documents related to prepaid products. In addition, he consulted with industry companies on projects such as identifying new markets, creating new products, and developing marketing plans.

“I am excited to join in the work being done by the NBPCA,” said Jackson. “Prepaid is a tool that has brought help to underserved individuals, improved operations for businesses and government, and enabled cutting-edge financial technology.”

Jackson pairs his industry knowledge with a background in journalism, previously working as a managing editor for SourceMedia and a reporter for American Banker covering payments, prepaid, and banking.

“With Ben joining as COO, NBPCA gains an effective industry advocate and leader who can help build awareness of the exciting changes taking place within the industry,” said Brian Tate, President and CEO of NBPCA. “Ben is a fantastic addition to the team as NBPCA seeks to continue the positive growth of prepaid and meet the needs of a wide variety of consumers.”

Jackson received a BA in Classics and Political Science from the University of Pittsburgh and MSJ in Journalism from Northwestern University.
