Barclaycard US Appoints Shelton Shugar as Chief Information Officer

Barclaycard US, the payments business of Barclays in the U.S., just recently announced the appointment of Shelton Shugar a CIO for Barclaycard U.S., effective immediately.

As CIO for Barclaycard U.S., Shugar will play a very substantial role in managing and developing Barclaycard’s technological capabilities to serve its customers in the U.S. Shugar will report directly to Barclaycard CIO, Roy Aston in the UK.

Shugar boasts over a quarter-century of experience in enterprise computing to the position, in addition to copious knowledge in cloud computing, product development and e-commerce.

His last assignment was as VP of Enterprise Cloud Services with Hewlett Packard Enterprise in San Francisco. Before that, he held positions at CA Technologies, Yahoo!, eBay, Homestore and Verisign. The Thomson Corporation and AOL. He holds an M.S. in Computer Science from Johns Hopkins University.
