First Data, a runaway leader in commerce-enabling tech, with ShopKeep, a major player in cloud-based technology solutions that repurposes iPads into efficient and connected cash registers, announced a new partnership that expands their preexisting relationship.

Shopkeep is just the most recent software developer to collaborate with First Data’s Clover platform in accordance with First Data’s recently announced Integrated Solutions Group.

First Data will ensure ShopKeep’s POS software will remain available via First Data’s impressive distribution network including major banks, retailers, as well as its network of independent sales organizations.

Additionally, ShopKeep will introduce First Data’s payment processing along with the Clover Go software developer kit AND the Clover hardware suite as its strategic infrastructure.

The Clover product line boasts a plethora of cutting-edge devices that accept a multitude of payment types including but not limited to EMV, NFC, and stripe-read transactions.

First Data’s Integrated Solutions Group is geared toward the pursuit of enhancing the company’s competence with software developers throughout the payments space, creating a seamless experience for developers when integrating their solution with First Data.

“We are thrilled to announce this partnership with ShopKeep, a pioneer in point-of-sale software,” said EJ Jackson, SVP, Integrated Solutions Group, First Data. “The agreement illustrates First Data’s commitment of providing an open platform that supports innovation across industries.”

“Having worked closely with First Data for many years, we recognize that they have set the gold standard for payments,” said Etie Hertz, Chief Revenue Officer, ShopKeep. “This partnership allows us to extend our relationship with First Data and ensures that the expansive universe of independent retail and restaurant merchants they touch will now all have access to ShopKeep’s best-in-class POS solution.“
