One4all Gift Cards Reports Significant 2016 Sales Increase
As it happens, if you’re in the UK, those plastic cards you get for your birthday have been doing quite well, as indicated by One4all’s data collection for 2016.
The One4all Gift Card, which attributes over 50,000 UK stores within its scheme, saw a 23 percent year on year jump in sales in 2016 via post, the One4all website, as well as their corporate arm, One4all Rewards.
The data shows some staggering numbers, as the business had a surprisingly successful year of online trading with website sales increasing 69 percent year on year.
Declan Byrne, managing director at The Gift Voucher Shop UK, said, “It’s brilliant to see that the appetite for gift cards has continued to grow in the past 12 months. The Post Office saw a 20% increase in sales year on year, which shows there is still increasing demand for ‘bricks and mortar’ purchasing channel.”
Orders for corporate gift cards and rewards via the One4all Rewards division, which is known for delivering incentives and benefits programs for businesses, increased 46 percent year on year.
Byrne continued with, “Since we made rewards and incentives available for online ordering for corporate customers at the end of 2015, we have seen an incredible amount of sales being placed through the One4all Rewards website from both new and existing customers looking to create reward and incentive schemes for their staff.
“We’re pleased that we can pass on the fantastic sales increases to the wide selection of high street and online retailers who are currently part of the One4all Gift Cards scheme. 2016 retailer redemptions saw a 23% increase year on year and we are confident this figure will continue to grow moving forward.”
Based on the data provided by GVS, general merchandise stores which have the tendency to sell a plethora of products, saw the most staggering value of One4all Gift Card redemptions during 2016—which beats out fashion retailers which were previously number one in 2015.
“We’re delighted that we’ve seen such growth in the general merchandise category and across all retail sectors,” continued Byrne. “During the past year we welcomed a fantastic selection of retailers to the One4all scheme including some huge brands like Marks & Spencer, Primark, Carpetright and Mitchell & Butlers. In 2017 we plan to continue to expand the One4all retailer offering to provide an even wider selection of retailers for our customers.”
