New Option May Be Coming To Android Pay
New options are one of the big things that help keep current users of just about anything in the fold, and encourage new users to step in and try out the big new product of the day. Android Pay is said to be at work on a new feature that should make a lot of users happy, and could be poised to bring it to the actual app soon. It’s said to be in the testing phase right now, but when it comes out, a new transaction history may be providing new value for Android Pay users.
What’s more, the transaction history function doesn’t just offer tracking for Android Pay, but for payment cards that aren’t stored in the user’s mobile wallet. Right now, it’s clearly in its early stages, as it’s only available for certain cards. This is likely to expand as the program gains ground, but for right now, it’s comparatively quiet. Early reports suggest it works with an American Express Cash card, and potentially with the larger line of American Express cards as well.
For business users, this would be terrific. A one-stop shop of your entire purchase history would make expense reporting and tax preparation a whole lot simpler than it is right now. For regular users, there’s still value in such a package for those who want to live more on a budget and get out of debt. It’s also good for those concerned about security; being able to see what purchases were made when, and on what card, all from one centralized interface is the kind of thing that makes monitoring credit card activity a breeze. Given the sheer number of data breaches we’ve seen in the last few years, something like that could be a major draw for Android Pay.
Of course, the value of such a system might be limited; it’s likely not too hard for Samsung Pay, Apple Pay and all the rest to add such a function to their own loadout. However, Android Pay having such a system in place likely will go to keep the current user base active and potentially even bring in a few new users besides.
