DIMOCO Publishes Carrier Billing Market Report for Hungary

Recently, news out of Vienna regarding DIMOCO was released regarding the company’s report for Carrier Billing in the neighboring nation of Hungary.

DIMOCO, a leading payment institute for carrier billing, distributed its latest report detailing the key market trends and data for the Hungarian carrier billing market.

Currently wth 10.79 million handsets and a smartphone penetration rate of 41.8 percent, Hungary shows signs of serious carrier billing market potential to accelerate customer monetization, as well as increase conversion rates and enable payments on multiple screens.

This being the seventh in the DIMOCO series, the “Carrier Billing Market Report: Hungary” offers insights into the country’s market potential for merchants who intend to bill digital content services via mobile network operators.

DIMOCO laid out a few highlights from the report worth mentioning to survey:

  • 10.74 million mobile subscriber base is split between three mobile network operators: T-Mobile with a market share of 46.06 percent, Telenor with 29.24 percent and Vodafone with 24.7 percent.
  • While only 11.8 percent of adults own a credit card, Hungary boasts a mobile handset penetration of 109.3 percent, according to recent data from Juniper Research.
  • The European market reports a conversion rate for carrier billing first-time transactions at 77 percent and jumps up to 88 percent for second-time transactions.
