Baskin-Robbins Makes Summer Chill a Little Easier With Mobile Payments

If the summer heat is starting to get to you the way it is to me, then ice cream sounds pretty good right about now, doesn’t it?

For those considering a stop at Baskin-Robbins for that summertime ice cream fix, there’s about to be one more big reason to swing in thanks to a new mobile app offering access to mobile payments, and not just for those in the store, either.

The new mobile app allows users to not only pay for ordered items from the app, but also to share the ice cream love from it as well. With the app, users can send a breed of virtual card via text or email that allows those targeted access to the fun as well.

Downloading the app is enough for a free four-ounce scoop of ice cream in any flavor the company offers, which is great news, but the benefits go on from there.

A set of app-specific coupons and special offers will be on hand, available nowhere else. Users can buy gift cards through the app and even reload them from the same interface.

The app will keep users apprised of any special promotions and events going on at locations, along with the current Flavor of the Month, and anyone wanting to know where the nearest Baskin-Robbins location is need only check the app.

Baskin-Robbins senior vice president for the United States and Canada Weldon Spangler commented “At Baskin-Robbins, we take pride in delighting guests with our wide variety of ice creams and frozen treats and we’re always looking for new and innovative ways to enhance the guest experience and to further connect with our customers.

We are excited to introduce our new mobile app to guests nationwide, which includes a range of features including special mobile offers, mobile payment and information about our products.

We hope guests will celebrate our launch by downloading the app and enjoying a free regular scoop of their favorite Baskin-Robbins ice cream flavor on us.”

Any time a restaurant—even a quick-service option like Baskin-Robbins—can make an experience easier and faster to go through, it’s worth doing. Any improvement is always worth the effort, especially if it doesn’t hurt the rest of the experience.

A mobile app is increasingly necessary for restaurants, especially as users want that mobile access to various features like deals. That’s good news for Baskin-Robbins customers, as most of the desired features are on hand here.

That brings Baskin-Robbins’ experience on par with everyone else and ensures no one else will have a competitive edge over the company.

Baskin-Robbins should have a sweet experience waiting for its users here, and though it’s nothing particularly noteworthy, it’s going to be just what the users likely want to see.
