Festipay announced that it would be providing cashless payment solutions to five different Romanian festivals this year.

The first of the lot was the Bucharest Gourmet gastro festival. Festipay was introduced to the Romanian market back in 2015 by working with Untold Festival in Cluj.

Festipay also worked exclusively with many other Hungarian festivals, and the company is extending its reach to more and more European events.

In 2015, Festipay introduced itself at Romania’s biggest festival, Untold, and has been causing a buzz ever since.

After the success Festipay had with festivals in the past, the organizers of Bucharest gourmet decided to extend their collaboration with the company.

As a result of this decision, the company based in Hungary will be playing a prominent role in the developments of the up-and-coming Romanian gastro festival market.

“We are really glad to expand the co-operation with the Romanian partners. Last year’s successful debut on the Romanian market made it clear for both the organizers and the festivalgoers that cashless payment is beneficial for everyone. At events that attract its audience from the entirety of Europe, the possibility of fast transactions is really valuable: a cash payment takes 20-25 seconds, while processing a contactless transaction only takes 3-5 seconds,” said László Márki, CEO of Festipay.
