PFS’ CEO Nominated for EY Entrepreneur of the Year Award

In its 30th year on the global stage, the EY Entrepreneur of the Year celebrates phenomenal entrepreneurs with incomparable foresight, and upsetting the status quo in business.

The competition includes 145 cities across 60 countries worldwide, with one winner selected for each country.

This award program has been running in Ireland specifically for over 18 years, and is said to be one of the most revered programs out of all 60 across the globe.

Noel Moran, the CEO of Prepaid Financial Services, has made the shortlist in the International category of the EY Entrepreneur of the Year Ireland.

Starting on a kitchen table in Navan, Ireland, PFS has blossomed more and more with each passing year. The company now employs 128 members of staff across three separate locations.

The company is considered to be the fastest growing MasterCard prepaid issuer in Europe, as its customer base stands at approximately 2.5 million, with 1.3 million new prepaid cards scheduled for issuing in 2016.

“PFS is acknowledged as the fastest growing MasterCard prepaid issuer in Europe with a customer base of 2.5 million (current) cardholders, and we are incredibly proud of the company’s achievements, which we have worked hard to build together,” said Noel Moran. “PFS has been providing its payments technology and range of e-money and banking solutions to governments, local authorities, mobile network operators, banks and corporates globally, for a number of years now. In fact, by the end of this calendar year, we will have more customers and cardholders than any Irish Bank - all without funding or external investment,” he continued.

The winners of the prestigious award will be announced at the Awards Gala held in Dublin in October 2016.

After this, the winners from across the globe will go on to compete for the EY World Entrepreneur of the Year at the global awards ceremony in Montecarlo, June 2017.
