Penn Station East Coast Subs Launches New Mobile App With Plenty of Features

There are a lot of options when it comes to sub sandwiches out there.

Subway, of course, does reasonably well, but there’s also Jimmy John’s, Jersey Mike’s, even Erbert & Gerbert’s to consider.

Perhaps the king of all subdom, however, is Penn Station East Coast Subs. Featuring its own fresh-cut fries in peanut oil, fresh-squeezed lemonade, and subs that take the familiar and make it delicious, Penn Station is a great place for a sandwich meal any time of day.

Now, it’s made a good thing even better by offering loyal customers a new mobile payments system, complete with loyalty program.

Employees will scan a barcode connected to the customer’s loyalty account after the customer signs up with an email address. Just joining the program gives users a free six-inch sub, and for every dollar customers spend, a point is added to the account.

The points are redeemable for food items—the fries and lemonade mentioned earlier, or a chocolate chunk cookie—and once a certain number of points is reached, the customer gets another free six-inch sub.

The program in turn, according to Craig Dunaway, Penn Station’s president, will help local operators learn what products are best selling and best responded to in the region.

Plus, users will have more reason to come back to Penn Station—aside from the obvious benefit of delicious subs—as well as refer friends to the app.

Those who refer friends via social media receive a free six-inch sub when a download takes place, and users will even be able to join in a series of seasonal online games via the app.

Penn Station really didn’t need a whole lot of loyalty app boost just to keep going. Those sandwiches, fries and lemonade are fantastic enough as it is, and throwing in a loyalty app really doesn’t improve things much, it just makes what’s already good even better.

There’s no doubt that this will be well-received, and those who weren’t already trying Penn Station food now have a great reason to do so.

A free sandwich just for joining up is a great premium, and might well pull in those who weren’t already enjoying Penn Station’s great menu.

Free food later is also worth sticking around for, and this combination should make Penn Station’s loyalty program well worth what hassle may be involved.
