Fon’s UK Customers Can Now Buy Wi-Fi Access Using Pay with Amazon

Consumers in the United Kingdom can now buy Wi-Fi access from Fon, a global network access provider, using Pay with Amazon.

Fon, along with British telecommunication giant BT, says that they have successfully integrated Pay with Amazon and consumers can now easily buy Wi-Fi access using a few simple steps.

Since public Wi-Fi hotspots are not secure, making a purchase using credit card over Wi-Fi remained a concern for British consumers.

However, with this announcement to offer Pay with Amazon from Fon, consumers can now safely purchase Wi-Fi access with their Amazon accounts without worrying about the safety of their credit card details.

Fon announced that consumers using any device, including smartphones, tablets, or laptops, can use the easy to use Pay with Amazon option to make the purchase and instantly receive the online access through its nationwide network in the United Kingdom.

Commenting on the introduction of Pay with Amazon to make a Wi-Fi access purchase, Fon’s Chief Executive Officer, Alexander Puregger, said that “By partnering with Amazon, we are able to provide customers with a familiar payment option that they already know and trust.”

Mr. Puregger also sounded optimistic when he added that “Pay with Amazon allows [them] to bring the customer experience to the next level and provide a secure and seamless connection experience.”

Patrick Gauthier, the Vice President of Amazon Payments mentioned that they are “thrilled to be working with BT and Fon to offer customers a familiar and trusted way to purchase Wi-Fi access.”

“Pay with Amazon makes it easy for millions of customers around the world to pay using their Amazon account,” he noted.

Fon offers one of the most widespread Wi-Fi networks in the United Kingdom with over five million hotspots located in key public locations where paid users can enjoy internet access.
