Property Tax Payment Enabled via Mobile Says San Diego County Treasurer

The Treasurer-Tax Collector of San Diego Country, Dan McAllister has revealed that payments through mobile devices will now be available at www.sdtreastax.com.

On Monday, McAllister made the announcement that his office has added a feature to the website allowing San Diegans to make property tax payments using their mobile devices.

Now, bills can be paid electronically via e-check or by credit card.

“You can pay with your mobile device — whatever device you have, wherever you are, whenever you want,” commented McAllister. “Our new and improved mobile platform makes it easier to read, easier to access, and easier to pay.”

With a combined 987,000 of tax bills in property tax bills being distributed as of today, and nearly 2,3000 more than the previous year—totaling to about $5.37 billion. This is around $295 million more than last year.

With the first installment slated for a November 1st due, the delinquency period begins for payments after December 10th. The payments can and should be made online if applicable. If not, can be made via phone or in person.

The prospect of paying property taxes via mobile devices is an interesting concept. Not too sure is anybody as to whether or not it will take, but nevertheless, the option should be welcomed.
