Mozido Completes CorFire Acquisition

Digital commerce and payment solutions provider Mozido has completed its acquisition of digital commerce company CorFire.

Mozido now owns 80 percent of CorFire, while SK Holdings Co. Ltd keeps 20 percent of the company.

Through this acquisition, Mozido steps up its capabilities through the integration of CorFire’s technology platform and blue chip customer base including the biggest mobile network operators (MNOs) in the world.

The companies’ combined digital commerce expertise and financial services provide financial institutions, MNOs and retailers worldwide access to leading payment technologies such as HCE, NFC and QRC cloud-based mobile payments.

Customers also take advantage of extensive foundation of worldwide MNO relationships, improved mobile wallet functionality and additional proximity marketing, mobile loyalty and engagement services.

CorFire’s acquisition is in line with Mozido’s strategic global expansion and follows its recent acquisition of NetCash, a mobile wallet company based in Zimbabwe. Just recently, Mozido also expanded its presence in China with the acquisition of payment gateway provider PayEase and investment in risk management IdentityMind Global and HCE pioneer, SimplyTapp.

Michael Liberty, founder of Mozido, commented, “Mozido’s global team has been working tirelessly to integrate CorFire into Mozido’s MoTEAFTM Digital Transaction Platform, and through these efforts, we have armed clients around the world with a complete, powerful mobile ecosystem. Bringing CorFire under the global Mozido umbrella has not only diversified our technological offering, but also built on the year’s momentum by expanding our global reach.”
