Leading global payments technology company Adyen has expanded its partnership with fast growing international ride service provider Uber.

Under the new partnership, Uber customers in Morocco will now be able to pay using their locally issued debit and credit cards.

“Adyen continues to be a key strategic partner in addressing the many payments-related challenges of rapid international expansion,” said Meryem Belqziz, Uber Casablanca General Manager. “Their transparent philosophy, data-driven approach, and technical agility have made the partnership a natural fit.”

The two companies first worked in 2012 with Uber’s launch in the Netherlands. Since then, Uber has expanded into over 50 markets on six continents.

Adyen helps optimize authorization rates on a global scale by adapting to regional variations in regulations and payment infrastructure, and leveraging payment data across its portfolio.

Kamran Zaki, president of Adyen North America, commented, “We are pleased to expand our partnership with Uber as it continues its explosive growth trajectory around the world. From the beginning, Uber required a dynamic, fast-paced payment processing partner that could adapt to the needs of one of the most innovative tech companies in the world; and we’ve been proud to serve as that partner across six continents.”

Adyen offers businesses a single global platform to accept payments anywhere in the world and across multiple channels with more than 250 payment methods and 187 currencies. Aside from Uber, it also works with other leading companies including Facebook, Netflix and Groupon.
