Chase Mobile Unveils Touch ID Support For iPhone

June 1, 2024         By: Thadeus Geodfrey

Chase has enabled support for Apple’s Touch ID in a move to add convenience and greater security to its mobile banking app.

Chase Mobile’s support of Touch ID authentication for the iPhone 5s, 6, and 6 Plus will help tighten security, and give customers the ability to sign in to the app using their fingerprint. A password will also be required to process secure transactions such as Chase QuickPay.

The redesign of the Chase Mobile app in 2014 received high praise from customers, and the success of the design changes show. This spring, users of the Chase Mobile app increased by 22 percent to 20 million.

Other highlights include:

  • Chase QuickPay via mobile devices increased by 80% in 2014
  • Chase QuickDeposit – the service that allows you to deposit checks by taking a picture with your mobile device – was carried out 45 million times
  • Chase joined the clearXchange network, allowing customers to send and receive money to more than 100 million customers from other banks

Taken altogether, by ascribing to and embracing the evolution of mobile, Chase has seen a sharp uptick in their customers transitioning to mobile banking and related services.

Have no fear, Android device owners. Chase Bank will also be unveiling more enhancements to their app later this year, including the introduction of biometrics support for Android devices.
