Amazon Flying High After Joining Forces with JetBlue
Retail giant Amazon has teamed up with JetBlue to give their customers something to smile about.
The Seattle-based retail company teamed up with the airline to enable it to provide its Amazon Prime members with access to their Prime Instant Video content during their flight for no additional charge.
JetBlue customers who are members of its TrueBlue points plan will also receive points for specific purchases made on Amazon while in-flight. Ordinary passengers have not been left out, as they will be able to buy or rent videos, music, movies, and apps through Amazon as well.
This partnership is the first of its kind for Amazon, who have never had this sort of collaboration with an airline before. It comes in the wake of a campaign by Amazon to bring its digital services to a wider audience, and compete with rival services offered by companies like Google and Apple.
This move promises to increase the amount of entertainment available on JetBlue Flights, especially for Amazon Prime members, while in turn increasing the number of subscriptions to the Amazon Prime service as more JetBlue customers try to take advantage of the new partnership.
