ACI Worldwide Acquires PAY.ON to Boost End-To-End E-Commerce Capabilities
Electronic payment and banking solutions provider ACI Worldwide has taken another step to improve its end-to-end e-commerce payment capabilities through the acquisition of German-based e-commerce payment gateway services provider PAY.ON.
Under the agreement, ACI will buy 100 percent of PAY.ON’s equity in a combination of cash and stock. PAY.ON’s value is now put at about $200 million.
PAY.ON has made a name in providing a white label global payment gateway solution to payment services providers (PSPs) and acquirers worldwide.
Its advanced SaaS-based ecommerce gateway solution offers connectivity to over 300 alternative payment methods and card acquirers in over 160 countries.
With this global coverage, PSPs and merchants will further bolster international revenues, speed up market expansion and lessen costs and risks.
ACI Worldwide’s UP Retailer Payments service, when combined with PAY.ON solution, enables PSPs and merchants to offer a seamless omni-channel customer payment experience be it online, mobile or in store, with both on premise and SaaS delivery choices.
Phil Heasley, president and CEO of ACI Worldwide, commented, “PAY.ON brings world-class ecommerce payment and Card Not Present (CNP) capabilities to ACI. Its SaaS-based business model, coupled with its strength in alternative payments and cross-border capabilities, allow us to expand our ecommerce platform broadly into new geographic regions. Our acquisition of ReD in 2014 strengthened our position as a market leader in the CNP payments risk management market, and this acquisition further solidifies our position as a leading omni-channel payments provider.”
ACI Worldwide’s acquisition of PAY.ON is set to benefit the global ecommerce market as it will help meet the growing need for cross-border ecommerce payments. Cross-border e-commerce volume will likely grow at 18 percent CAGR through 2019.
