Amazon Seller Central Now Offers Payoneer as a Payment Option
On November 4, Payoneer in a press release announced that Amazon has selected its international payment system to expand their cross-border payment options to sellers in 24 selected countries.
Users of Amazon Seller Central in countries like the U.S., Spain, France, Italy, Germany, and the UK etc. can now sell to these select countries and make a withdrawal with Payoneer.
With this cooperation with Payoneer, Amazon’s users can now directly sign up for a Payoneer account from inside the seller central and once the Payoneer account is approved, they can easily collect Amazon disbursements in their Payoneer account.
From there, users can either withdraw the funds to a local bank account or use their Payoneer’s MasterCard debit card to spend money in worldwide POS locations or get cash from ATMs that support MasterCard.
In the press release Payoneer confirmed that this is the first time Amazon has expanded its Seller Central cross-border payment options via a third party payment solution provider.
Commenting on the news, Scott Galit, the Chief Executive Officer of Payoneer said that “we are very excited to work with Amazon and support the needs of the rapidly growing cross-border e-tailing community by providing efficient and easy payments.”
“Amazon is the driving force in empowering the world of e-Commerce by connecting buyers and sellers from all over the world. Today marks yet another step in our mission to streamline every step of the payment cycle for both marketplaces and sellers,” he continued.
Payoneer has a good reputation of servicing the international freelance industry. A lot of the top online talent marketplaces have opted to offer Payoneer as a payment option. However, with the collaboration with Amazon, Payoneer seems to be expanding their niche and entering a larger pool of users who sell products instead of individual services.
New York based Payoneer was founded in 2005 and ranked in the top 100 list of Inc 5000’s financial companies.
