An edgy new app named Chillr is starting to gain attention in financial technology circles.
The sleek app provides subtle, secure and anonymous payment options through its mobile interface. Following the trend of minimalistic, simplified and sleek apps, Chillr provides a basic yet aesthetically pleasurable mobile app experience for online payments. It also attempts to appeal to the millennial generation, using catchphrases such as “Keep Calm and Transfer Money.”
The app allows its users to transfer money quickly from a bank account to anyone saved as a contact, without knowing the contacts banking information. Chillr acts as an intermediary, cutting out the need for tedious account details and setup.
It also provides a layer of security by protecting its user’s information from other users as well as outside attacks. The app has a simple layout and allows users to make payments with just a few clicks.
The idea for the creation of the app came from the founders of Mobme, a wireless solutions and value added services company. During a market study, they realized that multi-bank and multi-payment platforms would be a necessity in the future, in particular the healthcare, fintech and education sectors. The service is considered a peer-2-peer service because it involves no other medium other than the app and the user’s bank account. Thus far, Chillr is only available with select banking partners, but the company plans to expand globally in the near future.
