Orange Launches Mobile Payments Throughout France
Orange announced on Tuesday that it is unveiling its Orange Cash mobile payments service across France. The company had previously launched the service in a few cities sporadically during the previous year.
The company also unveiled their prepaid NFC mobile payment solution, which operates in collaboration with Visa as of late 2013. They also named Caen and Strasbourg as the first markets for launch the following year.
In addition, it also launched Orange Cash in Lille, Nice, and Rennes specifically in 2014—soon to be made available throughout all of metropolitan France.
As of right now, Orange Cash is ready for use at approximately 324,000 POS systems.
The first 150,000 to sign up for the Orange Cash app will earn a 10 euro credit directly to their account 1 euro per purchase cash back.
“In addition to enhancing the customer relationship at points of sale with mobile payment, Orange Cash offers retailers opportunities to communicate with their customers and prospects in real time,” the telco commented in a statement. “They use geolocation to personalize their offers and to manage and win the loyalty of their customer base.”
“In an increasingly digital and mobile environment, Orange Cash offers any outlet and retailers alike the opportunity to re-enforce their commercial relationships,” Orange said.
