Benefit Mobile Expands Mobile Wallet Service

January 28, 2024         By: Melanie Macinas

Michigan-based Benefit Mobile is aiming to become an everyday payment method by expanding its click-to-give capabilities with some new enhancements.

With Benefit Mobile, customers make a difference every time they shop as they can designate a cause to receive a percentage of their spending, which is reminiscent of Amazon’s Smile program.

“Frictionless fundraising and grassroots philanthropy: the definite goals of Benefit Mobile,” said Derik Lolli, CEO & Founder of Benefit Mobile. “Behind all of that is the simple desire to take what we all do-pay for everyday expenses and make it purposeful.”

The charitable payment platform works like a prepaid mobile wallet. Whenever customers use the app at checkout in participating retailers, up to 20 percent of their total purchase goes directly to the cause of their choice, which can be non-profit, school or even their own life expenses.

The app offers a new option to assign a credit card as a payment method, allowing users to earn rewards or miles as they give back. The app also guarantees accuracy with an option to take a photo of the card.

Benefit Mobile also allows users to assign personal life expenses such as healthcare, education, and mortgage as their beneficiary. Users receive a check back for the amount they earned monthly, whenever they reach $10 or more.

The app, downloadable on the Google Play and iPhone stores, offers access to more than 80 leading online and in-store retailers such as Amazon and Target. It also tracks balances and shows contributions in real time.
