Adyen Launches Alipay Mobile Payment Functionality for Evernote

Evernote’s users in China can now make payments through Alipay thanks to a new mobile-optimized checkout launched by global payment solutions provider Adyen.

A popular online payment method in China, Alipay offers a secure, trustworthy, and convenient way to make and receive payments on mobile phones and online.

The integration provides an opportunity for Evernote to expand its presence in China.

To further simplify the checkout experience, Adyen has also implemented Alipay’s one-click mobile checkout for Evernote’s regular users. Here in the U.S., Adyen enthused about joining the ranks of Apple Pay supporters.

With over 630 million Internet users in China, and 83 percent of them accessing the web through mobile phones, simplifying mobile payments is vital to converting online users into buyers.

“Adyen’s mission is to help global brands like Evernote increase their revenue by creating the most user-friendly and streamlined payments experience for their customers,” said Kamran Zaki, President, Adyen North America.

The potential for China’s growing consumer purchasing power is significant.

According to Zaki, “As we highlighted in our newly-published China Payments Guide, China represents by far the largest mobile commerce growth opportunity in the world. In 2015, e-commerce in China is expected to top $540 billion and by 2020 the Chinese e-commerce market will be bigger than that of the US, UK, Japan, Germany and France combined — and mobile will be at the heart of this growth. In this environment, optimizing the mobile payment experience to eliminate friction and cater to local preferences will be paramount to success.”

Jingming Li, Vice President and Chief Architect of Alipay International, commented: “As one of China’s most trusted and most widely used payment tools, Alipay always strives to enhance customers’ checkout experience. We are pleased to work with Evernote and Adyen to provide a seamless mobile checkout experience for Evernote users in China.”

Linda Kozlowski, Vice President, Worldwide Operations at Evernote, shared how customers’ mobile experience has significantly improved following Adyen’s implementation of Alipay’s mobile-optimized checkout. With this launch, Evernote hopes to see an increase in conversions, customer satisfaction and brand affinity.
