MasterCard has launched a new digital payment technology in the Czech Republic, providing consumers a fast and safe payment method online.

MasterPass is a global digital payment platform that powers a network of digital wallets, making online shopping easier and faster.

To use MasterPass, users just need to download or update their MasterCard Mobile wallet app in their mobile phones or tablets, save the details of their payments cards and mailing addresses once, and click “Buy with MasterPass” to pay for goods and services at online merchants.

In the future, MasterCard Mobile wallet users will also be able to enjoy new features including airtime top-up, person-to-person payments, NFC payments and wallet account management via a website, said Miroslav Lukeš, general manager at MasterCard Europe in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Austria.

It’s not only consumers that will benefit from MasterPass, but merchants and banks as well.

MasterPass generates more turnover for merchants with the simplicity and speed it offers during the checkout process.

This new technology also allows banks to create customized digital wallets in line with clients’ requirements and connect them into the MasterPass acceptance network.

MasterPass is already available in more than 40,000 merchants all over the world. It will also be launched in Taiwan on November 19.

In the Czech Republic, MasterPass is now being offered at lza.cz, Czech Railways and DameJidlo.cz.
