Is Facebook Entering the Prepaid Domain?

According to Bill Hartzer, Facebook has recently registered three new domains:

Facebookprepaid.com

Facebookprepaid.net

Facebookprepaid.org

While what they plan to do with these domain names is unknown at the moment, it seems safe to assume it’s going to involve something being prepaid.

As we’ve discussed before, Facebook has abandoned its Facebook Credit system in lieu of real currency, perhaps they’ll be looking to entice Candy Crush addicts into purchasing prepaid cards for a quick fix?

Or perhaps they plan to replace Paypal and Google Checkout for their own payment method through their online storefronts.

Or maybe they’re even looking to take on bigger fish with a full-fledged prepaid debit card?

As of right now, there isn’t much more to do than speculate, but hopefully more details will surface soon.
